My wife took her car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. After a few days, she began having trouble with her brakes, so took the car to a mechanic.
The mechanic found that oil had been added to the brake fluid.
This, of course, led to a number of expensive efforts to re-enable her car to stop properly.
When we returned to Jiffy Lube, they shrugged. And numerous follow-up letters got us no more than the corporate shrug--a series of denials and well-wishes for our misfortune.
They were the ones who poured oil into the brake system. And they should have owned up to it and paid for it.
We have not been back since, nor do we ever intend to. And their shop is literally around the corner from our house.
I'm sure others out there have similar stories--I've heard a few. Hopefully, they'll post them here. |
